Hello Everyone!

Again, thank you all for your support in recent months.

Unearthed and Evolved

Thanks to all of you for feedback regarding the corebooks WIP.

We fixed everything you highlighted and we are preparing the first PDF versions of Unearthed and Evolved. We hope you'll enjoy them and that they will make your wait for the complete package a bit easier.

We think we would need at least two weeks to send both PDFs to all backers. After that, you'll be granted some time to read the books. Before proceeding to the print, we are asking for your feedback, so that the books can be the best possible.

Dice and XP Cards

Good news!

XP Decks and Dicesets are ready and are in our warehouse! We love them, they are exactly as we expected.

This stuff required a lot of time, nearly seven months. The standard production time in February was about 1 or two months, but soon after March, everything was delayed by three/four months. Month after month, the manufacturer continued to lengthen the timing.

Having considered the situation, we decided to send them in production before the books. We're happy we decided this, so the production delay caused a minimal inflection on the progress of the other works in preparation.

We are, however, keeping them safe and they will be shipped to you together with all the books.

First Look at the Map and Other News
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jul 24, 2021 at 04:19:19 AM

Hello all,

It’s summer, and this is always a busy time for everybody in the industry. We are hard at work following the various steps of Evolved and Unearthed!

First View of the World!

First of all, we are really excited to see the first steps of the world map! Jared Blando, conceptual artist cartographer and map-maker extraordinaire, is best known for his RPG fantasy maps for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Gods of the Fall and other awesome games.

Jared is at work designing a new, immersive and detailed map of the Lands of the Diamond Throne. We are happy to give you a look at this with his first sketch. His work in progress is always impressive!

We will share some other WIP map image as Jared is updating it every day...

Lands of Diamond Throne

"Every culture has its own name for the world, but in the Common tongue of humans, it is known as Serran. Deep in all ancestry consciousness, known also as the akashic memory, lies the truth of the creation of the world, although the exact date of that event is contested.

A single moon hangs high in the Serran sky. On clear nights, most people perceive it as having a light blue hue. In the middle of summer, however, it is bright white. The moon shares the night sky with five planets. During the day, the sun is a warm yellow.

The Lands of the Diamond Throne are but a (large) part of a single continent on Serran, which in turn is part of a larger landmass. The most explored portions are frequently called “the realm” in addition to the “Lands of the Diamond Throne.” Historically, the area was called Terrakal, and before that, the entire continent was simply “the Land of the Dragons.” The giants of today call it Dor-Erthenos.

The southernmost edge of this continent lies about 700 miles above the world’s equator. In recent days, more has become known about the continents of Pallembor—the Mysterious West—and Skaraven, where the wicked avian humanoids known as harrids come from. And at least one other continent is known to exist, to the far east, from which the giants and sibeccai originally hail!"

Faiths and Pantheons of the Diamond Throne

"In the opinion of many, the gods of the world are gone, or so faded in power that they no longer hold a significant position in the cosmology. The argument goes that if the gods were so powerful (or real at all) as to be worthy of worship, they never would have abandoned so many to the dramojh for so long.

Giants and litorians do not worship gods but follow some philosophies. Neither do the verrik, although they do believe that after they die they can ascend to near godhood. The faen and the sibeccai have many gods, although each has its own brand of spirituality. Mojh mostly worship dragons and dragonkind. Dracha worship the dragon god Erixalimar. Humans are split fairly evenly, with about half either disbelieving in or resenting all deities and the rest at least a little faithful in their chosen religion.

Because of this attitude toward religion, most temples are old, and many are in poor repair. A great number are abandoned altogether.

The Gods of the Denotholan: Denothol was a great human hero who used legendary perseverance and magic to travel to the mystical realm where the gods lived.  His story and his catalogue of the gods, their portfolios, and their relationships are recorded in a book called the Denotholan. The deities described within are called the Gods of the Denotholan. Although there are other gods, they are usually quite minor. The Gods of the Denotholan are those that hold (or held) large numbers of worshipers as well as great sway over their lives.

Here you can give a look at some of the religious symbols in the Diamond Throne, like Niashra, Idonis, Mowren and Hanavere Trinity.

What is coming next...

History and Geography of the setting are around the corner, while our design team is working on Monsters and NPCs chapters... but we will talk about these steps soon!

Serran is Growing, Let's Take a Look!

The Giant and the Dragon - Stefano Moroni

 Good evening people of Serran,

Design Work on Diamond Throne Marches Forward

Both corebooks, Evolved and Unearthed, are 70% of their editorial production.

They have been set up and a good number of chapters have been completed, like Ruleset, Equipment, History, Geography, and Deities. They are under review now.

Our authors are hard at work and should already complete other sections by the end of this month, like magic and creatures chapters, so we are near to have an insight almost definitive of at least one of the two handbooks.

Art, Too!

On the art front, almost all of the new art has been ordered. There are a few bits remaining, as our Art Director has particular artists in mind, and is working with them to fit those pieces into their schedules. We should have some beautiful new illustrations to show you next month.

Here are some new arts from Stefano Moroni,  Jacopo Schiavo, Riccardo Rullo, and Giuseppe De Iure. With them, the artistic structure is slowly transforming the books before our eyes.

Accessories Production

It was hard last year for us all, and the timing has now changed slightly, due to the strong recovery in our sector. This suggested preventing some of the unpredictable delays, so we had to anticipate the production of a couple of accessories to have them available almost simultaneously with the editorial production.

We had to work almost exclusively on them in the last two weeks to proceed within the new deadlines requested by producers. Therefore we already started the production of the XP Cards and the Dice Sets

The production is in Europe, and precisely in Poland for both. FabrykaKart will produce the Deck of XP Cards, while Q-Workshop will start the production of the dice sets.

We worked in the past with them with good results. Having them at our side is great as they are reliable partners.

 What’s Next?

Diamond Thorne continues to move forward on schedule. Roughly, that means:

  • Design work continues through June and July.
  • Some design files are already transitioning into editing, and that will continue into summer.
  • Layout begins in July, followed by proofing. Diamond Throne will also need the supervision of Monte Cook and Monte Cook Games, so we will have to wait their final approval.
  •  After all these steps we will go to press!

But Wait, That’s Not All!

What about all the other titles and items funded by this campaign? We certainly haven’t forgotten about them. In the meantime we are completing the corebooks, our authors Dean and Christopher are dedicating themselves to the adventure book. In the coming weeks, we will certainly have some updates on this - they are doing a great job.
